Finding my Home in ADPI

 Joining Alpha Delta Pi (ADPI) has already been one of the best parts of my college experience, even after only a short period of time. Coming into college, I was so excited to meet new people, make new friendships, and hopefully find a place where I truly belonged and what felt like my home away from home. ADPI has given me that and so much more, in only a few weeks. To most this might sound crazy, but I have already met girls who I know will be in my life for years to come, and for some I can already picture standing beside them as my bridesmaids on my wedding day. It is so very special to think that the friendships I am making right now could possibly turn into life long friendships.

The new member photo shoot, which took place on October 6th, at the Arboretum in Lexington, was such a fun experience because it gave us the chance to celebrate this brand new chapter that we get to call home and capture memories that we will always be able to admire and look back on! Getting dressed up, calling my new friends to see if they liked my outfit, taking pictures with my sisters, and getting to know everyone just a little bit better made the day so wonderful. To me and I am sure to others, it was more than just cute pictures and instagram posts. It was a chance to celebrate becoming a part of something bigger than ourselves. Looking at these pictures now, it makes me so excited to know that these are just the beginning to so many more beautiful memories.

One of my favorite things about ADPI has been how easy it is to connect with all of the girls in my AC and older. Everyone has made this experience for me so special, and I am so very grateful for the friendships I have already started building. College is such a big transition for anyone, whether you are 30 minutes or 6 hours from home, but having a loving group of girls around you who make you feel welcomed and supported, makes all the difference everyday. I will be forever thankful that ADPI has become a part of my college experience.

I am so happy I chose ADPI, and I cannot wait to see where this sisterhood takes me. If my experinces thus far are any indication what the rest of my 4 years looks like, these friendships and memories will be some of the most meaningful parts of my college years. I am so grateful to be part of Alpha Delta Pi and to have a place that feels like home.
